Purposely Placed is a Sarasota-based home staging and interior design studio led by Betsy Mincey. The work spans the whole life of a home: staging houses so they photograph beautifully and show even better, designing interiors for the people staying put, furnishing vacation rentals that guests rave about, and walking sellers through exactly what to fix — and what to skip — before a listing goes live.
What ties it together is a simple belief: luxury-level interiors shouldn’t require luxury-level budgets. Every project starts with what a home already has going for it, adds only what earns its keep, and is styled for the way Florida buyers, guests, and families actually live.

What's the difference between home staging and interior design?
Staging prepares a home to sell — it's marketing, aimed at buyers, and the furnishings leave when the home closes. Interior design is for the people staying: a home furnished and finished around your taste and daily life. We do both, which means the same eye that sells houses can also make yours feel like a model home you get to keep.
Do you work outside of Sarasota?
Yes — we're based in Palmetto and work across the whole Sarasota–Bradenton–St. Petersburg corridor, including Lakewood Ranch, Venice, Anna Maria, Siesta Key, Longboat Key, Parrish, and Ellenton.
How much does home staging cost?
It depends on the home's size, how many rooms need furniture, and how long the staging stays in place. Vacant-home staging is typically quoted per room per month; occupied-home consultations are a flat fee. Tell us about the property and we'll send a tailored quote — usually within 48 hours.
Can you work with my existing furniture?
Absolutely. Occupied staging and most design projects start with what you own — we rearrange, edit, and fill the gaps with rented or purchased pieces only where they earn their keep.
