This Sarasota model home project highlights how our team turned a blank slate into a luxurious, move-in-ready showcase. In just one day, we infused the space with cool blue tones and stylish design to elevate the model home’s appeal.

Before and After: Transforming a New Construction Model Home in Sarasota

This Sarasota model home staging project was a prime example of rapid transformation and design impact.

Starting with a blank slate in one of three newly constructed, identical model homes, we staged the entire residence in just one day.

Inspired by the cool blue tones of the home’s exterior, we curated a cohesive interior design that elevated the model home’s appeal and gave it a luxurious, lived-in feel.

The end result showcased a stylish and inviting space, perfect for attracting prospective buyers.

Bright kitchen featuring sleek white cabinetry, stainless steel appliances, and a stylish dining setup.

Model Home Interior Design: Cool Blue Inspiration and Elegant Details

Our design approach for this model home was inspired by the serene and sophisticated cool blue tones of its exterior.

This color palette was thoughtfully integrated into each room, creating a cohesive and inviting atmosphere that appeals to potential buyers. The use of blue not only adds a touch of elegance but also enhances the overall aesthetic, making the home feel both modern and timeless.

The staging process focused on creating a seamless flow from room to room:

  • Bedrooms: Soft gray textiles layered with blue accent pillows, complemented by modern artwork and sleek nightstands.
  • Bathrooms: Spa-like staging with crisp white linens, natural wood accessories, and curated artwork that tied into the home’s overall palette.
  • Dining Room: An elegant setup with upholstered chairs in neutral tones, a rustic-modern dining table, and a centerpiece evoking coastal charm.
  • Living Room: Anchored by a plush cream sofa and accented with blue velvet chairs, abstract wall art, and contemporary lighting fixtures.
  • Kitchen: Styled with simple, elegant settings on the island and countertops to highlight the high-end finishes and ample space.

Throughout the home, the cool blue tones complemented the light wood floors and bright walls, enhancing the modern yet welcoming ambiance.

Cozy bedroom with textured bedding, patterned pillows, and natural light streaming through windows.

Achieving the Builder’s Vision: Stunning Results in One Day

The custom builder’s goal was to present one of the three identical model homes in a way that stood out from the competition and enticed potential buyers. By staging the space:

  • We delivered an elevated model home experience that reflected the builder’s craftsmanship and vision.
  • The transformation provided an aspirational lifestyle for buyers to connect with emotionally.
  • The rapid, one-day setup allowed the builder to quickly showcase the home’s potential without delays.

As a result, the staged home attracted considerable interest from potential buyers and increased foot traffic during open house showings.

Staging Best Practices: Key Lessons from the Sarasota Model Home

The Sarasota model home project demonstrated the effectiveness of strategic staging in enhancing property appeal. By focusing on key elements such as color continuity and design cohesion, the staging team successfully transformed the space into a desirable living environment.

This approach not only highlighted the home's architectural features but also created an emotional connection with potential buyers, making it a standout in the competitive real estate market.‍

This project reaffirmed the importance of:

  • Fast Turnaround: With new construction, readiness for market is key. Having a flexible, experienced staging team ensures timely execution.
  • Builder Collaboration: Meeting with the builder beforehand allowed us to align on the vision, select the right color palette, and tailor the design to their goals.
  • Inspiration from Exterior Design: Drawing from the home’s cool blue exterior provided continuity and a memorable impression.
  • Elevated Model Home Appeal: Staging transforms a space, allowing buyers to visualize living there, increasing the likelihood of a sale.
