Interior design ideas for homes you are staying in.
Not every project ends with a For Sale sign. This section is for people staying in their homes who want the place to finally look the way they pictured it — how to plan a room, how to light it, and how to make a small Florida floor plan feel generous rather than cramped.

Start with the plan, not the shopping
Almost every room that is not working has a layout problem underneath the decorating problem. Before choosing a single fabric we map out where people walk, where they sit, where the light comes from at four in the afternoon, and what the room is genuinely for.
Florida homes add their own constraints: tall volumes that swallow small furniture, sliders that eat wall space, and light so strong it changes how every colour behaves between morning and evening.
Buying well beats buying a lot
The rooms that look expensive are rarely the ones with the most in them. They are the ones where a few pieces are the right scale, the lighting works at three levels, and nothing is fighting for attention. That restraint is where the studio name comes from — every piece placed on purpose.

FAQ
Questions, answered.
Can you help if I am not selling my house?
Yes, and it is a large part of what we do. Interior design and decorating for people staying in their homes runs from a single room refresh to a whole-house furniture plan, working with the pieces you want to keep.
What services does Purposely Placed offer?
Home staging for vacant and occupied listings, interior design and decorating for homeowners who are staying put, vacation rental and Airbnb setup, pre-listing home assessments, and paint colour consultations. The same studio handles all of it, so the person who quotes your project is the person who designs it.
Who will I actually be working with?
Betsy Mincey, the owner, runs every project personally — she does the walkthrough, builds the design, and is on site for the install with her team. You are not handed off to a rotating account manager.
What is the first step?
Send us a note with your address, timeline, and a few photos. Betsy will come back to arrange a walkthrough, and after that you receive a written proposal with scope and pricing. There is no charge for the conversation.
